Meet the U.S. Rocketry Team: Mazelie Passmore, Flight Coordinator

Name: Mazelie Passmore
Grade: 9
Role: Flight Coordinator

What was your first thought after winning TARC 19?

I could not believe it. I wasn’t really thinking very much. I was just shocked and excited.

How has the team grown over the year?

We started the year with little knowledge of rocketry, but at this point we have learned so much about rocketry. Also, we have become friends throughout the year, and gotten to know each other very well.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give a shout out to?

I’d like to give a shout out to the other TARC team from our club since they worked just as hard as we did at nationals and have been very supportive of us 🙂

Favorite Emoji?

How does it feel to represent the United States of America on the International Stage?

It is really hard to believe, it seems like something that could never happen to us. Overall, though, it is very exciting and and an incredible opportunity.

What advice do you have for future students interested in TARC?

I think that they should just go for it! It’s a lot of work and takes a lot of luck, but it’s a really fun competition and anyone who wants to should definitely try.

Are you more excited for Cheese, Bread, Croissants, or another food in Paris???

Honestly it’s hard to choose, but croissants are good…
