General Information
  • The event is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.
  • Dress for the day is casual.
  • The 1st round of student rocket launches begins at 8:30 a.m. and continues every hour until 1:30 p.m. The top 20 teams will launch again at 3:00 p.m. to determine the winners.
  • Food Vendors will be available throughout the day.
  • Beginning at 4:00 p.m. there will be a demonstration of large, high-powered rockets by the National Association of Rocketry.
  • Team award ceremony will occur from 5:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m.
  • The US TARC winner will compete against the UK winner in an international fly-off at 6:00 p.m.
Directions & Parking

The launch site is located at Great Meadow Outdoor Events Center in The Plains, VA, approximately 40 miles west of Washington, D.C. From D.C., take I-66 West to Exit 31. Turn left off the exit ramp onto Highway 245 and follow the signs about 2 miles to Great Meadow, which will be on your left. More directions to Great Meadow.
